Submission Guide

Everything you need to know about publishing on AppHub.

Overview

AppHub is a community-driven marketplace where students, indie developers, startups, and open-source builders can showcase their projects.

We focus on discovering, downloading, rating, reviewing, and showcasing community-built projects. You can submit Mobile Apps, Websites, Games, Desktop Apps, and Open Source tools.

How to Submit

  1. Login: Ensure you are authenticated into your AppHub account.
  2. Select Project Type: Choose from Mobile App, Website, Game, Desktop App, or Open Source/Other.
  3. Project Details: Provide the app Name, Tagline, Category, and descriptions.
  4. Assets: Upload a Logo and multiple Screenshots of your interface.
  5. Links:
    • For Mobile/Desktop/Games: You must provide a valid Project URL or Download URL. For APKs, point to a GitHub Release.
    • For Websites/Open Source: Provide the Live Website URL or Repository URL.
  6. Submit: Upon submission, your project status becomes pending.

Review & Verification Process

Once submitted, your project enters the moderation queue. You will be able to view your pending project, but it won't appear publicly on the Explore page until approved.

For Downloadable Apps (Mobile, Desktop, Games):

  • The repository or download link must exist and be accessible.
  • The provided download URL must point directly to a valid release or store page.
  • Screenshots must accurately represent the application.

For Web & Open Source:

  • The website or repository must be operational and accessible.
  • No spam, scam, or phishing content is permitted.

Projects that pass verification may receive a "Verified" badge and become eligible for the Spotlight feature.

Security Guidelines

Security is a top priority for our community.

  • APK Hosting: We strictly do not host APK files to prevent malware distribution on our servers. All downloads redirect to your provided GitHub Releases. Ensure your releases are clean.
  • Open Source Encouraged: While closed-source apps are allowed, open-source repositories build trust within the community.
  • Authentication: AppHub relies on secure, passwordless authentication and Google OAuth to protect creator accounts. Ensure your connected email is secure.
  • Reporting: The community can report apps or reviews that seem malicious. Moderation action will be taken swiftly against violations.
